Hotpot and Doddsline Lancashire Heelers

American Kennel Club Foundation Stock Service

On August 1, 2001, Pennijar Pilgrim became the first Lancashire Heeler accepted by the American Kennel Club Foundation Stock Service.

This AKC registry service provides US breeders and owners of Lancashire Heelers a secure and reliable avenue to maintain breeding records for future generations. To record a dog with the FSS, an application form must be completed and sent to the AKC along with the appropriate fees, the three-generation pedigree, and registry papers from an accepted foreign registry.

A pup born in the USA from an FSS recorded litter should apply for recording with the FSS application acquired from the breeder. A US bred pup from a non-recorded litter may apply for registry and will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Application forms and fee schedules may be obtained from the AKC by calling (919) 233-9767.

In order for the Lancashire Heeler to participate in FSS Conformation Classes or to be considered for full recognition by the AKC, there are minimum numbers that must be recorded. This service by the AKC is a valuable tool in maintaining the integrity of the pedigree and ownership records of Lancashire Heelers throughout the USA, and all owners are encouraged to record their dogs, even if they do not intend to breed.
